As I’ve mentioned before, I often ask my senior clients what lessons they’ve learned in their time in high school. What they answer often surprises me…their wisdom and life experience usually belies their age. Natalie says the most important lesson she’s learned is that people truly matter. She adds that something she’s learned about herself is also that she is incredibly caring, and that going out of her way to help someone brings her true happiness. I think a lot of high school is about self-discovery, and I’m always so proud of the young people who take the time to reflect on the lessons they have gained. Natalie is a senior at Ghidotti High School, and has an impressive 4.32 grade point average. She has been heavily involved in many clubs and activities with her friends, and overcame a major surgery last year (with lots of “perseverance”, she says). One of the things she is most passionate about is her work with the mental health awareness club, “Bring Change to Mind”, and the important work it’s doing in her community.
“Hardworking and compassionate” are the two words she uses to describe her personality, and she shared that she feels most empowered when she is helping others. When she graduates, college is next up on her to-do list, along with traveling to Europe with a group of friends, and studying psychology. I know Natalie is a role model to many people, and asked her who she most looks up to in her own life. She explained that her biggest inspiration has been a doctor she’s interned with, who truly goes out of his way to help the underprivileged patients and who treats the overlooked populations. Her family is extremely proud of her, and can’t wait to make wall prints and digital images with her beautiful senior shoot photos.
I love the magic that we created with the leaves and the outdoor location. Congratulations, Natalie!
