Keep all special thoughts and memories for lifetimes to come. Share these keepsakes with others to inspire hope and build from the past, which can bridge to the future. -Mattie Stepanek
High school teaches us so much, and even though it was years ago for me, I still remember the valuable work ethic and dedication that I learned in those years. For Lia, one of my 2020 senior reps, it’s been becoming a true leader that has taught her so much. She has truly enjoyed her time at her school, and says, “I have also learned that I can be myself, and not let people’s words effect me. I dealt with a lot of anxiety over the years, but I have overcome it by changing my mindset, and filling my head with self-love”. She’s managed to maintain an amazing 3.6 grade point average, and has also juggled cheerleading and swim, as well as working part time at a local restaurant. She dreams of one day becoming a general surgeon, and also plans to travel and attend college. She draws inspiration every day from people like her mom (her hero), and the way they are hardworking and big dreamers!
Choosing a photographer to celebrate such an important milestone was something that was important to her, and she had some friends who had worked with me in the past. I’m so grateful they referred her to me, so I would have the chance to work with her, too! Lia is passionate about music and photography, and she really enjoys exploring her artistic side. I knew I wanted to make sure her photos felt that inspiration, and she let me know she enjoys shopping at stores like local boutiques and PacSun, as we began putting together outfits. “I envisioned something summery and cute”, she explained, “My family and I are excited to use these for wall prints, and graduation announcements”.
