Working with sisters is always a major privilege for me. I was honored to do Ashley’s senior photos previously, and loved that her sister (pictured below) chose me also. Amber has just celebrated her graduation, and is eagerly heading to Sierra College as her next big milestone. Her sister was an integral part of one of my senior squads, and Amber knew she had to be a part of it, too! High school has been a valuable time of shaping her passions and interests, and she has gained so much from it…one important lesson she learned was how to not worry about what people think (a lesson I am still learning as a grown woman :) She also learned to become comfortable speaking in front of groups of people, and learning how to do a presentation. “I got more comfortable in this setting, and forced myself to speak up more”, she explained, “I also volunteered for things, until I didn’t feel as scared!” That is such a great perspective, and wise advice…sometimes, you have to push yourself to get past fears! She has a lengthy bucket list of things she hopes to do next, but one is learning to surf on the beaches of Australia. I hope she gets to tackle that goal soon! She also shared with me that her mom is the strongest person that she knows, and that “she has shown me that no matter what you go through, when you come out on the other side, you are a stronger version of yourself”.
Knowing what you want out of your senior session is very important; whether you are eager to share your images on social media, or display them proudly on your wall, I always ask my clients and their parents what they are most excited about. This helps guide them to the right print and product purchases, and helps us both achieve the images that they will love for a lifetime. I don’t think your senior images should languish in a drawer or on a USB, they should be used, loved, and cherished, and passed down to future generations. Amber’s family was excited to have wall prints, digital images, and announcements made from her images. This is why having a senior photographer who understands you and truly listens, is so important, and why I always strive to offer the best service to every single client who comes my way! I feel truly lucky to be in business, and get to do what I love!
