On the first day of your freshman year, you feel just about every emotion under the sun. You wonder whether you will be befriended and liked, and if you will be able to handle your class load. You question things like peer pressure, and your appearance, and think ahead to things like prom and those exciting pep rallies. And before you know it, three years has gone by, and your senior year is before you. That’s when senior year is more than just an idea, and your senior photos become a real thing to think about and consider. It’s an exciting time in your life, and I love being a part of it. Nicole reached out to me for her own senior experience, and we had a beautiful time in one of my favorite locations: my beloved orchard spot! Nicole attends Forest Charter School, and will graduate in 2018. She has learned so much during her high school years, including how to stand on her own two feet, and be the person she was meant to be. “I learned to keep a positive mindset in high school, and how to have a good perspective…that everyone is special in their own way”, she explained to me, “My friends would probably say I am funny and energetic, as well as compassionate. I hope that my classmates would remember me as someone who was confident and stylish.”
I work with every senior to ensure that their personal style is really represented. For Nicole, she not only chose perfect outfits, but also wanted to incorporate something she’s very passionate about: books! So, we gathered up many of her favorites (by authors like John Green and Veronica Roth), and brought them along to her shoot. That was no small accomplishment, because this girl is a voracious reader. Besides reading, she also enjoys snowboarding and swimming. The orchard was a great spot for her, because she wanted a nature-themed shoot, where she could feel confident and cute. Her family can’t wait to use these photos for wall prints and announcements, and I feel confident these images will enrich their lives for years to come; a reminder of their special daughter and her accomplishments!
