The sun was out in full force (surprise, surprise) on this shoot, but Gillian and I made good use of it! Gillian has an amazing sense of humor, and was so fun to work with on my senior squad this year! She made the shoot one of the most pleasant and hilarious work days I’ve had in a while. Gillian is a senior at Sutter Union High School, and after graduation day she’s heading off to Hattiesburg, Mississippi to attend William Carey University on her volleyball scholarship. She says, “I chose Lisa because her senior photos are unique - different than what I see from other senior photographers. My family had pictures done with her a couple years ago, and they turned out just as beautiful as my senior photos!” We wanted to hit a few different locations, to showcase Gillian’s own variety as an individual.
Gillian and I walked along the sunny sidewalks until we found the perfect spot for a floral shot. She wore a wreath of pink roses to compliment her soft and warm complexion, and we utilized the afternoon sun for a beautiful backlight. Gillian enjoys the consistent weather here in California, and makes a point of staying active! She loves volleyball, and has received a scholarship to play volleyball in college. Gillian has so many different passions, that she finds it hard to study just one subject at William Carey University. Aside from volleyball, she keeps busy through working as a lifeguard for three different pools, running track, her memberships in the prestigious California Scholarship Federation and the interact club and her activity in church, all the while maintaining a 4.0 GPA.
Gillian loves spending time with her family and friends, and is caring and loving towards everyone she meets. She has a joyful disposition that is such a privilege to be around. I’m positive that she will make quite an impression at William Carey; she has a bright future ahead of her! She’s one of the many reasons I love what I do so much. It is so fulfilling to me that I get to meet and highlight so many wonderful seniors by doing my favorite thing in the world!
