This year has been one of the best so far: so full of fun and laughter, and bursting with creativity! Especially so with my senior squad, who have helped make this a great year for photography. Jackie is part of that squad, and it’s been such a fantastic time getting to know her. She’s finishing up high school, and while she has a whole list of what’s next for her, the top choice is Cal Poly, to study biochemistry. We walked around Nevada City, which has some of the most beautiful areas around California! You can see in the photos the city’s gorgeous colors and textures, and Jackie’s beautiful spirit. Her friends describe her as sarcastic and sweet, and they’re on the nose. Her sense of humor draws you in, and her sweetness made the time I spent with her some of the best time I’ve spent.
She’s an others-focused girl, spending her free time tutoring after school, or in community clubs like Leo Club, or Link Crew. She’s a confident girl, and you can really see that in the shots we got. She made it easy to capture her soul, as she bares it everywhere she goes, and it’s warming to those around her in these colder months. She gets her confidence from her dad: “He gives me the courage to try new things, and to put myself out there. He’s made sure I always know that if I fail, he’ll always be there for me. I know I can count on him!” What a blessing he must be! She loves spending time with her parents, or hanging out with her friends or her dog, and she counts them all as blessings in her life.
Jackie’s shoot went by like a breeze, and it was so great seeing her style really pop against the sunny California streets, and underneath the autumn trees. Her favorite seasons are fall and winter, so it worked out perfect for the both of us this year! And she loves to travel: her mom is from Portugal, so they visit often, and Jackie loves to see her mother’s beautiful homeland. Ultimately, this session with Jackie was one of those times that I’ll look back at fondly, and I hope for more! I wish her all the best as she continues her trajectory towards greatness. Good luck, Jackie!
